Without the right background assets, he can't leave the school. No character art for guys means no male characters showing up. The heroines act like they barely have brains, just regurgitating cliché lines. The script is sloppy as hell. And our guy has some absurdly convenient plot devices work in his favor. Btw, the setting itself is just plain stupid.
Our main dude realizes he's stuck being the main character in this lame excuse of a story. He’s both the hero and an audience member, watching his own shenanigans while eating popcorn. If there's any hint at a plot twist, he figures it out before it’s revealed, even laying down hypotheses, and ultimately ends up spoiling everything. At such times, with a disappointed sigh, he mutters, "That's it?"
Trapped in school without a soul to talk to, he's suffocated by the oppressiveness in the air. The world's functioning seems ruled by a single higher dimensional force. The puppet strings held by the author (aka God) can be seen with a naked eye. But, nonetheless, our guy fights tooth and nail against that reality.
