In a world that is filled with bug-men, mustard seeds, trees that never flower, and winding hills that curve round themselves, thereupon lies the Sad Horse Run.
The name is ancient, but a rumor goes around regarding the Esroh Family – of the millennia frozen Grand Duchy – having taken their name from that place.
Red Esroh is the heiress to this Family. After the Duchy undergoes the Great Unthawing, she is tasked to rebuild her Family’s connection to the numerous diplomats arriving in the city.
However, when she meets Luzek, a woman claiming to be a diplomat from the city of Hjunik, Red is taken on a strange adventure involving identity theft, winding cityscapes, the feeling that home can mean something very different for another person, and intrigue.
Oh, and for some reason, Red can’t get Luzek out of her mind. Funny how things work like that, sometimes.
