Kei is Reichen’s older sister; the two once ran a butchery, and after the late emperor married Reichen she became Great General despite little military or martial training. She and Reichen are looked down on in the castle for poor decisions and for holding office only through that marriage. Loyal to Reichen and easily steered by her, Kei is proud of her appearance and rank, and reacts angrily when others call her a former meat seller.
