The landlady of the apartment complex where Renji lives, Nishi-Sanso. She lost her parents at a young age and was raised by her grandparents. After her grandparents also passed away, Karen—who took over Nishi-Sanso at a young age—is orderly, kind, and understanding. She is doing her best to run the place on her own. She is a woman with a somewhat old-fashioned air—she has voluptuous breasts that her apron cannot fully conceal, and many men find themselves involuntarily drawn to the contrast between her slender frame and her ample bust. Although she is being pressured to vacate Nishi-Sanso due to a redevelopment plan, she cannot bring herself to abandon this place that her grandparents protected.
