The deuteragonist of the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign manga series. Mikaela is a vampire who is part of Ferid Bathory's Faction. He was turned into a vampire against his will by Third Progenitor Krul Tepes. He hates vampires because of his history with them, and he hates humans for using and experimenting on Yuuichirou. As a self-loathing and moody vampire, Mikaela is a pale shadow of his former self. When Lacus asks him what he is, Mikaela answers that he is just an "ugly bloodsucker." He never smiles and always looks apathetic. Mikaela blames himself for the death of his family, and his sole reason for living is to save Yuuichirou. He keeps to himself and only has real conversations with Krul and Ferid, but refuses to interact with the other vampires as much as possible. Similarly to when he is human, the vampire Mikaela cares about his family more than anything. As Yuuichirou is the only family he has left, Mikaela lives to save and protect him from both the vampires and the humans.
