The daughter of a takoyaki shop owner who lives in the area where Representative Kakimoto plans to build an entertainment district. Maki’s family has refused repeated eviction demands and continues to hold on to their small, old shop. She’s a typical girl raised in the working-class neighborhood—lively and energetic. Though she looks childish, she’s surprisingly responsible; she’s taken over the shop and runs it herself in place of her father, who doesn’t work much. She is self-conscious about her petite, slender figure and can be somewhat self-deprecating at times. She laments the fact that virtually all the neighboring residents have begun to comply with the eviction orders, and often grumbles, “How pathetic… what happened to the pride of the working-class neighborhood?” She loves baseball and, naturally, is a huge fan of the Hanshin Tigers. To achieve both his land acquisition goals and his personal objectives, Renji approaches Maki. [Translated from the official site]
