Valerie Jackson is the oldest of the two daughters of Coach Sam "Glass Jaw" Jackson. She had to shoulder most of the household duties when her mother ran away with Sam's manager when she was 9. Around this time, Sam took John under his wings (John was 12) and started to train him. John and Valerie grew close by sheer proximity. The hours John didn't spend with Sam and his daughters were either at school or asleep. Valerie is independent, responsible, and realistic. [Edited from in-game description]
