He is the representative of the "Shoseikai", a religious group that supports the Kohei Party. He prides himself on being God's representative, stating that contributing to peace and rescuing the poor are roles given to him by God, and he has enthusiastic support from members nationwide due to the mysterious charisma of his daughter Mutsumi. However, he has also been criticized by both his followers and outside for his aggressive solicitation, strict rules that do not allow withdrawal, ties with political groups that could lead to interference in politics, and income from his position as a religious corporation. He also runs a school called "Shosei Gakuen" and serves as its chairman.
