Nominally the antagonist to Arsene Lupin in Maurice Leblanc's short stories, Ganimard cooperates with Lupin's heists by playing out the role of the thwarted rival whilst secretly aiding Lupin from behind the scenes when her clumsy mistakes threaten to expose the entire charade. Capable, competent and organised, Ganimard has the entire Parisian police force at her disposal in her ostensible quest to catch Lupin.
