To publish a visual novel, we need its VNDB ID. Here are the simple steps to find this game on VNDB.
1. Search for the visual novel name in a search engine
Taking Google as an example, suppose I want to publish the game "karehana". Searching directly on VNDB won't yield results, so we need to search for the Japanese original name of the visual novel on a search engine.

From this, we learn that the game's original name is 枯れない世界と終わる花
2. Search for the game in VNDB using its original name
VNDB doesn't always require the original name to find a game, but it's a good habit to use the original name to search.
When you see the input field on VNDB's website, enter the game's original name we found earlier, and press Enter to search for the game.
Now, the link on the VNDB website page, like https://vndb.org/v19658, where v19658 is the VNDB ID of the game, can be used for the next steps in publishing the game.
For some games, there may be multiple results. In this case, publish the visual novel based on the different VNDB game IDs.
