Under a starless sky takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the stars are long gone. The world is dark and cold, and much of society has broken into small communities.
Two women from opposing groups who, by fate or by luck or by something else, meet up at an empty hill to gaze upon the empty sky and reflect upon their lives. Despite living completely different lives and holding conflicting values, the two find themselves drawn to each other, meeting upon the same near-barren hill every few years.
